Following an expert selection panel and the results of an online public vote, the first dot-art Schools Cheshire exhibition takes place in the gallery at Mid Cheshire College from the 8th the 17th June 2017. This free exhibition is open to the public between 10.30am until 4.30pm from Thursday 8th June to Saturday 17th June (closed on Sunday 11th June). The overall winners of the 2017 dot-art Schools Competition for the Cheshire region were announced at a prize-giving ceremony on 7th June, where the top three students from each of the participating schools were presented with a certificate and the six overall winners and runners up received their prizes.
Brigid Keighran from St Nicholas Catholic High School won the Year 9 award for her piece "Ganesha".
Milo Forster from Kelsall Primary School won the Year 5 award for his piece "Barn Owl".
Runners Up Awards in the secondary category were presented to Abbie, Holly, Jen, Eve and Maks from Bishops Bluecoat CofE High School and Hannah Britton of Bridgewater High School.
In the primary category Runners Up Awards were presented to Alex Harrison of Green Lane Special School and Louis Cahill of Delamere Primary School.
The winners were awarded a variety of prizes from Tate Liverpool, Cass Art and Tangle Teezer. In addition, as overall winner, Brigid received a scholarship to dot-art, giving her a year's membership to dot-art's network, allowing her to showcase and sell her work alongside professional artists.
