Following an expert selection panel and the results of an online public vote, the second dot-art Schools Cheshire exhibition took place at The Old Library from the 28th June to the 12th July 2019. The overall winners of the 2019 dot-art Schools Competition for the Cheshire region were announced at a prize-giving ceremony at Storyhouse on 27th June, where the top three students from each of the participating schools were presented with a certificate by the Lord Mayor of Chester Cllr Mark Williams and the six overall winners and runners up received their prizes.
Megan Thomason from Beamont Collegiate Academy won the Year 9 award for her piece "Alleyway".
Finn Gilding from Acton CE Primary Academy won the Year 5 award for her piece "Colourful Birds".
Runners Up Awards in the secondary category were presented to Mary Smith from Hartford CoE School and Li Zhi Potts of Bridgewater High School.
In the primary category Runners Up Awards were presented to Neve Horne of Kelsall Primary School and Zach Thompson of Barrow CE Primary School.
The winners were awarded a variety of prizes from Storyhouse, Tate Liverpool, Cauliflower Gifts and Cass Art. In addition, as overall winner, Megan received a scholarship to dot-art, giving her a year's membership to dot-art's network, allowing her to showcase and sell her work alongside professional artists.
